I recently began producing social media content for several brands operating in the mental health support, awareness, alcohol prevention, and sobriety sectors. In the first month, I obtained inspiration from Pinterest, Instagram, and Canva templates. It was okay at first, but I'm currently having trouble coming up with new ideas each day without repeating the same content.

The workload is pretty intense as well, since I have to produce three reels, three carousels, and three regular posts for each brand every day, and it's becoming exhausting to come up with ideas, work out designs, and make sure all the content feels relevant. I'm losing my inspiration and don't wish to continue with the same types of posts or copy what other people have already done.

If you are responsible for producing content for multiple brands, how do you consistently come up with new ideas? Do you follow any particular creators, use certain tools, maintain a bank of content ideas, or have a system for planning all of this? I would particularly like to get advice from those working in mental health or in related areas, such as raising awareness. What methods do you use to keep your content interesting, helpful, and sensitive to the subject without becoming exhausted?

It would be great to get some practical advice since I'm really stuck at the moment.

I really believe that you're far more in need of a content bank than of another source of inspiration. Whenever you come across a good question, a comment, a statistic from a reliable source, or a topic that people are discussing, store it somewhere. Avoid starting to look for ideas only when it's time to write a post.

With regard to mental health content, you might look into coping strategies, common misconceptions, supportive messages, signs that someone could use help, and different ways to support a friend. Ensure that reliable sources support any sensitive claims.

A single topic can be turned into several distinct pieces of content without becoming repetitive.

Nine pieces a day for every brand? That's a hell of a lot. 😅

Are you being asked to produce all of these as completely different things, or are you allowed to take the same topic and present it in different formats?

I work in social media as well, and one thing that really helped me was separating brainstorming from design. I used to go out to look for inspiration, design the post, then go back out to look for inspiration for the next one. That was absolutely draining.

I'll come up with a bunch of topics to work on first, write the content, and then go on to the design. That way the whole process feels a lot less haphazard.
