We launched our first round of Google Ads, and I'm working on setting up our analytics tools. I linked Google Analytics with Google Ads, and everything went smoothly until I encountered the "missing consent signals" problem, since we are advertising in Europe, too.

I must create a pop-up asking visitors, "Do you allow cookies?" Google helps by providing automated suggestions for various providers.

I just realized that I use multiple apps in my browser, and it's been ages since I've seen a cookie pop-up. I rechecked these websites using a European VPN and Incognito mode and still encountered none. Do they not use them? Or are they implementing another approach?

Additionally, does this affect the ads in any way? Or does it just limit my ability to view analytics for those specific users?

I don't mind having a cookie pop-up, but it struck me that many similar websites aren't using them. Does this imply they aren't accessing their analytics either? Or are they not utilizing Google Ads/Analytics, which requires this functionality?

I'm new to this area and would appreciate any guidance. Thank you!

If you're operating in Europe, particularly with advertisements, a cookie consent pop-up that complies with GDPR is essential.

I've utilized both the Complianz and Cookie Consent plugins. The GDPR-compliant versions of both require payment, but avoiding the risks of lawsuits or fines for non-compliance is preferable.
